Acura Genuine Battery

What is it?

Your battery provides electrical power to your vehicle's starter and fuel system as you go to start your vehicle. It also supplies electricity when the engine is off to power onboard electronics -such as the door locks, entry lighting, clock, and security system.

What if I ignore it?

You run a risk that the battery will fail at an inconvenient time, potentially stranding you without warning. Short drives, corrosion buildup, and seasonal changes in temperature can all shorten your battery's life. If you ignore a weak battery now, you might pay more in towing costs or lost time later.

What are the benefits of an Acura Genuine battery?

This battery is designed specifically to meet or exceed the original performance specifications of the battery that came from the factory, so it will be just as powerful as, or even more powerful than, the one it's replacing.

Cabin Air (Dust & Pollen) Filter

What is it?

The cabin air filter, also called a dust and pollen filter, in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system helps keep pollen, dust, and airborne contaminants out of your vehicle's passenger cabin. It filters both incoming and recirculated air.

What if I ignore it?

-Reduced air conditioner and heater air flow and performance

-Increased amount of airborne contaminants remain in the passenger cabin

-A filter not replaced at the recommended intervals may lead to mold growth and musty odors

What are the benefits of Acura Genuine Air Filters?

-They are engineered to deliver maximum filtration and system performance

-Meet strict Acura factory standards for performance, quality, and durability

Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic Motor Oil

What is it?

Motor oil is your engine's lifeblood. It lubricates your engine and protects moving parts to keep things running right. Full synthetic oils are produced without the types of chemical compositions sound in conventional oils that contribute to oil oxidation and sludge buildup. Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic motor oil is developed for Acura vehicles to enhance engine performance at extreme temperatures or under severe driving conditions.

What if I ignore it?

Oil eventually deteriorated and loses its ability to protect your engine, due to heat, friction, and exposure to exhaust components. Engine oil contains special additives to enhance oil's performance, and these additives are also broken down or consumed with distance and time. Engine damage can occur if the proper maintenance schedule is not followed.

What are the benefits of Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

-It's a premium, full-synthetic engine oil specially developed for Acura vehicles

-Formulated with superior synthetic base stocks that provide enhanced performance benefits compared with conventional engine oils

-Outstanding resistance to viscosity and thermal breakdown - providing optimum engine protection under severe driving conditions

-Meets or exceeds API certification and ILSAC GF-5 performance requirements for gasoline engines

-Clean formulation to reduce engine deposits and corrosion

-Formulated to be completely compatible with conventional oil

Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic motor oil is tested and approved by Acura R&D

-Helps provide excellent wear protection, minimize sludge and varnish, and resist viscosity and thermal breakdown in all condition

-Exceeds performance of conventional oils

Timing Belt

What is it?

A flat, toothed belt that precisely synchronizes the rotating motion of the crankshaft and camshaft(s). A key component of engine operation, the timing belt enables the intake and exhaust valves to open and close at the proper time in relation to the position of the pistols.

What if I ignore it?

-Timing belt may break, causing pistons to strike open valves resulting in costly engine damage

-If the belt breaks, the engine will immediately stop running without wanring

-If the belt breaks, you may be stranded, with the potential of a costly tow bill

What are the benefits of Acura Genuine Timing Belts?

-It can perform as reliably as the original, until the next maintenance interval

-Exact factory fit can alleviate worry about slippage, belt creep, and faulty synchronization

-Premium materials are identical to the original belt, providing maximum durability and crack resistance, even in extreme temperatures

-Greater resistance to tooth shear, heat, and contamination for enhanced protection against premature belt degradation and wear

Brake Pads

What is it?

Brake pads apply pressure to the brake rotors, creating friction to slow or stop the vehicle. Brake pad material wears down with driving and the pads should be replaced before the friction material is gone.

What if I ignore them?

Pads that continue to wear beyond the minimum thickness specification will eventually damage the brake rotor to the point of requiring rotor resurfacing or complete replacement.

What are the benefits of Acura Genuine Brake Pads?

-Thoroughly tested on the Acura model for which they are designed

-Manufactured with materials that help prevent premature rotor wear

-Feature special shims that dampen annoying squeaking rotor wear

-Include special friction technology and pad material to help reduce brake fade as the brakes heat up, providing a more consistent brake pedal feel

Brake Fluid

What is it?

Brake fluid is a type of hydraulic fluid that transfers and multiples force from the master cylinder to the brake calipers. Brake fluid also lubricated brake system components.

What if I ignore it?

-Over time, brake fluid loses its effectiveness, so that's why Acura recommends purging and replacing all the brake fluid from the entire system every three years to help ensure optimal braking performance.

-Moisture absorbed by the brake fluid gradually lowers the fluid's boiling point and makes it more susceptible to bubble formation in the brake lines

-Bubbles inside the brake lines compress when braking and can result in a mushy (instead of firm) brake pedal feel

-Moisture also can affect metal parts in the braking system, causing corrosion and early wear

What are the benefits of Acura Genuine Brake Fluid?

-Formulation is exclusive to Acura specification and not available under any other brand name

-Top-quality ingredients are designed to maintain effectiveness for the full three-year period between recommended changes

-It's the only recommended brand fluid for Acura vehicles

-Fully tested to be compatible with Acura brake system components

-Reduces the corrosive effects of moisture in the fluid

-Compatible with synthetic and rubber materials

-Minimal water absorption characteristics

-Reduces sediment formation in brake system

-Provides higher boiling and wet boiling point

-Excellent lubrication and stability performance under all conditions

Wheel Alignment

What is it?

A wheel alignment is the adjustment of angles that the tire makes in relation to the road surface and each other. The primary alignment angles are camber, caster, and toe. A wheel alignment is often performed after replacing tires or suspension components, after an impact with a pothole or curb, or when the following condition occur: abnormal tire wear, an offset steering wheel, or handling concerns (drifting, pulling, wandering, darting).

What if I ignore it?

-Increased or irregular tire wear and more frequent tire replacement

-Vehicle may drift, wander, pull, or dart

Tire Rotation

What is it?

During tire rotation, at the time of service, the tire and wheel assemblies are moved from one position to another to more evenly distribute wear and maximize tire life. Front and rear tires wear differently and the rotation pattern depends on the vehicle and tire design. Tire roation is regular maintenance that should be performed as recommended and is required to maintain the tire's warranty coverage.

What if I ignore it?

-Increased likelihood of irregular or uneven tire wear

-Increased tire wear and more frequent replacement

-Premature wear can increase road noise
