Acura Genuine Battery

What is it?

Your battery provides electrical power to your vehicle's starter and fuel system as you go to start your vehicle. It also supplies electricity when the engine is off to power onboard electronics -such as the door locks, entry lighting, clock, and security system.

What if I ignore it?

You run a risk that the battery will fail at an inconvenient time, potentially stranding you without warning. Cabin Air Filter

What is it?

The cabin air filter, also called a dust and pollen filter, in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system helps keep pollen, dust, and airborne contaminants out of your vehicle's passenger cabin. It filters both incoming and recirculated air.

What if I ignore it?

  • Reduced air conditioner and heater air flow and performance

Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic Motor Oil

What is it?

Motor oil is your engine's lifeblood. It lubricates your engine and protects moving parts to keep things running right. Full synthetic oils are produced without the types of chemical compositions sound in conventional oils that contribute to oil oxidation and sludge buildup. Acura Ultimate Full Synthetic motor oil is developed for Acura vehicles to enhance engine performance at extreme temperatures or under severe driving conditions.

What if I ignore it?

Oil eventually deteriorated and loses its ability to protect your engine, due to heat, friction, and exposure to exhaust components. Brake Fluid

What is it?

Brake fluid is a type of hydraulic fluid that transfers and multiples force from the master cylinder to the brake calipers. Brake fluid also lubricated brake system components.

What if I ignore it?

  • Over time, brake fluid loses its effectiveness, so that's why Acura recommends purging and replacing all the brake fluid from the entire system every three years to help ensure optimal braking performance.
  • Moisture absorbed by the brake fluid gradually lowers the fluid's boiling point and makes it more susceptible to bubble formation in the brake lines
  • Bubbles inside the brake lines compress when braking and can result in a mushy (instead of firm) brake pedal feel
  • Moisture also can affect metal parts in the braking system, causing corrosion and early wear

Timing Belt

What is it?

A flat, toothed belt that precisely synchronizes the rotating motion of the crankshaft and camshaft(s). A key component of engine operation, the timing belt enables the intake and exhaust valves to open and close at the proper time in relation to the position of the pistols.

What if I ignore it?

  • Timing belt may break, causing pistons to strike open valves resulting in costly engine damage
  • If the belt breaks, the engine will immediately stop running without warning
  • If the belt breaks, you may be stranded, with the potential of a costly tow bill

Brake Pads

What is it?

Brake pads apply pressure to the brake rotors, creating friction to slow or stop the vehicle. Brake pad material wears down with driving and the pads should be replaced before the friction material is gone.

What if I ignore them?

Pads that continue to wear beyond the minimum thickness specification will eventually damage the brake rotor to the point of requiring rotor resurfacing or complete replacement.

Wheel Alignment

What is it?

A wheel alignment is the adjustment of angles that the tire makes in relation to the road surface and each other. The primary alignment angles are camber, caster, and toe. A wheel alignment is often performed after replacing tires or suspension components, after an impact with a pothole or curb, or when the following condition occur: abnormal tire wear, an offset steering wheel, or handling concerns (drifting, pulling, wandering, darting).

Tire Rotation

What is it?

During tire rotation, at the time of service, the tire and wheel assemblies are moved from one position to another to more evenly distribute wear and maximize tire life. Front and rear tires wear differently and the rotation pattern depends on the vehicle and tire design. Tire rotation is regular maintenance that should be performed as recommended and is required to maintain the tire's warranty coverage.

What if I ignore it?

  • Increased likelihood of irregular or uneven tire wear

Apple CarPlay®

What is it?

Apple CarPlay is a smartphone integration technology that allows users to connect their Apple iPhone to the touchscreen infotainment system. All new Acura models are equipped with Apple CarPlay capabilities and can connect wirelessly for an even more convenient experience. You'll be able to use your favorite smartphone apps as long as they are compatible with Apple CarPlay and will project directly onto the touchscreen. To ensure the best connection, be sure your iPhone is up to date on the most recent operating system and that the Bluetooth is turned on if you wish to connect wirelessly.

How does it work?

  • You can connect your Apple iPhone with a Lightning-to-USB cable to one of the available USB ports in your Acura model or wirelessly through the Bluetooth® connection
  • After initial setup, your smartphone can connect wirelessly automatically
  • Compatible apps will project onto the screen, including turn-by-turn navigation
  • You can seamlessly toggle between the Apple CarPlay apps and Acura vehicle menus for added convenience

Android Auto is a Google-developed smartphone integration app that allows users to seamlessly connect and project their Android phone apps onto the Acura infotainment system. All new Acura vehicles come equipped with Android Auto capabilities for a user-friendly experience that allows drivers to stay connected hands-free and with less distraction. Some of the most convenient features include sending messages, streaming music, navigation, and more. You'll be able to use your favorite apps as long as the software is supported through Android Auto.

How does it work?

  • You can connect your Android smartphone with a Lightning-to-USB cable to one of the available USB ports in your Acura model or wirelessly through the Bluetooth® connection
  • After initial setup, your smartphone can connect wirelessly automatically
  • Compatible apps will project onto the screen, including turn-by-turn navigation
  • You can seamlessly toggle between the Android Auto apps and Acura vehicle menus for added convenience
